MASTR Assays

The combination of our MASTR assays with contemporary massive parallel sequencing technology allows high throughput and cost effective sequencing for both research and diagnostic purposes. Some key advantages of the MASTR (Multiplex Amplification of Specific Targets for Resequencing) workflow : 

  • upfront PCR workload and sample processing costs are substantially reduced
  • optimized primer concentrations and robust assay conditions guarantee a uniform representation of all amplicons  
  • a very narrow range between the highest and lowest covered targets is achieved (e.g. 95% of targets are covered within a 2-5 fold range)
  • a 2-step PCR protocol allows flexible incorporation of MIDs (molecular barcodes) in each amplified product to unambiguously link each read to the sample it originated from
  • low amounts of input DNA, requiring only 20-50 ng per multiplex PCR reaction
